Laura Francke
Laura Francke is a Clinical Psychologist with 25 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families across clinical and medico-legal settings. She is the Director of Clinical Psychology Services Australia, with practices in Medowie and Wyee, and has been consulting from The Relationspace offices in Sydney since 2024.
From 2010 to 2023, Laura worked as a Regulation 7 Family Consultant and Single Expert Witness in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Newcastle Registry) preparing comprehensive family reports in complex parenting matters involving high conflict, family violence, allegations of risk, trauma, attachment concerns, and parental mental health issues to assist the Court in determining arrangements that prioritised children’s safety, stability, and developmental needs.
Earlier in her career, Laura worked as a School Clinical Psychologist, providing psychological assessment and therapeutic support for children and adolescents, consulting closely with families and educators, and assisting students experiencing learning, behavioural, and emotional difficulties. This experience strengthened her understanding of child development within educational and family systems and the impact of parental separation and conflict on children’s functioning.
Since 2010, Laura has operated in private practice as a Clinical Psychologist and Director, initially leading Port Stephens Clinical Psychology Services and, from 2018, Clinical Psychology Services Australia. She provides assessment and intervention for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, addressing a wide range of presentations including anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation difficulties, parenting and relationship challenges, and complex family dynamics. Laura conducts comprehensive psychological and neurodevelopmental assessments, including for Autism, ADHD, and learning differences. She also provides supervision to psychologists and provisional psychologists, ensuring high standards of evidence-based, ethical practice across her services.
Laura holds a Master of Clinical Psychology, is a Fellow of the Australian Psychological Society, a member of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists, a Board-Approved Supervisor, and a member of Pacifica Congress.
