Couples Therapy

Co-parenting children who have challenges, parenting in cooperation with your partner or ex-partner and navigating extended family and intergenerational fractures and issues are common reasons people consult with therapists.

Because family therapy involves all members of a family unit and aims to teach families to solve problems, communicate positively and develop a sense of respectful relationships, it is not often suitable for Court involved families where direct communication and interaction is either not possible or is very difficult or unsafe.

Assessment and feedback is the only pathway offered by our Experts into further therapeutic services at The Relationspace or at another provider.  This is because we understand that family therapy is sometimes not suitable and, in some situations, it can escalate conflict.

If you are seeking couples therapy to stay engaged in your relationship or you wish to engage in couples therapy to resolve sticky issues, we have a small and trusted range of professionals who practice outside of The Relationspace and you are most welcome to contact us so we might connect you to an appropriate service with capacity to assist with an immediate intake.  If you are seeking to strengthen your relationship, look at Prepare/Enrich services.
