Specific Assessments

A Specific Issues Assessment (SIA) is a concise and limited assessment which focuses on a particular issue, specific event or targeted question as stipulated in Orders. This report may include relevant references to social science opinion and conclusions related to the specific issue for the purpose of assisting a final hearing.

Both parents will have individual interviews.  The Expert will not usually meet the child/ren who may be impacted by the specific issue as this is not a report which presents the view or wishes of the child, nor it is a comprehensive assessment of the relationship dynamics, risk and/or child wellbeing or mental health assessment of the parents or parental capacity.  Expert opinion offered to the Court in this report are limited to the scope of the specific issue/s being assessed.

The Order for the Expert appointment and report scope will be reviewed and written confirmation of acceptance by the Expert under their Terms of engagement for SIA will be provided, before the matter progresses to a reserved SIA booking for the Expert.
