Dr. Latika Sadashiv

 

 

Dr. Latika Sadashiv is a Counselling and Clinical Psychologist who enjoys working with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds. Dr. Latika has a Bachelor Psychological Science, Master Applied Psychology (Counselling) and a Doctorate Psychology (Clinical). She grew up in a culturally diverse environment and her professional interests are in attachment - relational connections, repairs and how families adjust to change.  Her early clinical experience was shaped by her work in prisons and tertiary psychiatric facilities. She has extensive experience working with mental health and trauma presentations.

Dr. Latika commenced working with the FCFCOA in May 2022 and continues in her capacity as a sessional Court Child Expert and Family Consultant working with post-separated families. She supports co-parents in navigating life post-separation, including managing neurodivergence, developmental trauma, and mental health vulnerabilities. Her focus in the preparation of family report writing is to incorporate her understanding of familial dynamics and to achieve the best outcomes supporting children’s optimal development.

Dr. Latika is the Director of Child & Family Matters, a private clinic in Brisbane, Qld, offering mental health and parenting support. Dr. Latika works therapeutically in the family law space and is completing training as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) and Child Consultant.

Dr. Latika is a Director on the Board of the Association of Therapeutic Family Law Professionals (TFLP). She has professional affiliations with EMDRAA, FLPA, CPPAQ, IARPP, ISSTD, ISST and Pacifica Congress.
