Dr. Rickie Elliott

Dr Rickie Elliott is a Clinical Psychologist with 23 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families to provide high-quality, evidence-based clinical assessment and intervention. She has worked within perinatal and infant mental health, child and adolescent mental health, adult mental health, drug and alcohol services, family violence and child protection, before moving to specialise in single-expert family law assessment and report writing.

Dr Elliott is experienced assessing children and families in the context of complex parenting disputes, including matters involving high conflict, allegations of family violence, parental mental health including complex personality concerns, drug and alcohol conditions, parent child relationship issues, child developmental concerns, and the complex interplay of all these factors within the whole family system. Her wealth of experience ensures she provides thorough and detailed family law evaluations and she consistently maintains a strictly neutral, fair and balanced child-focused assessment framework.

Dr Elliott's doctoral research examined parent-child relationships in the context of complex parent personality disorders. This and other research has been published in journals including the World Association of Infant Mental Health Journal.

Dr Elliott has also been a panelist on the National Mental Health Commission Expert Panel advising the Australian Government’s national policy and funding directives for children in recent years and was awarded a regional leadership award for excellence in her psychological contribution to the community from the University of Newcastle in 2021.

Dr Elliott is a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, the Pacifica Congress, and the Australian Psychological Society.
