Fiona Darroch
Fiona Darroch is a Clinical Psychologist who has worked with children and families in a variety of settings for over 30 years including as a registered nurse, secondary school teacher, school psychologist, and in private practice as a senior clinician. She possesses a comprehensive understanding of child and adolescent mental health and offers evidence-based guidance to professionals and families engaged in Court proceedings involving children.
Fiona holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Advanced Forensic Interviewing of Children and has written well over 1000 reports, both as a Court Child Expert and as a Single Expert Witness in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.
An accomplished speaker, Fiona presents at conferences both nationally and internationally and has had many papers published, including in the Family Court Review. She lectures to Post Graduate Psychology Students at the University of Newcastle on the topic of Psychology and Family Law and is the editor of the Pacifica Congress online journal, Issues.
Fiona belongs to the Australian & New Zealand Association of Psychiatry, Psychology and Law, the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, the Pacifica Congress, and the Australian Psychological Society. She is also a Fellow of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists.
Fiona has a special interest in the area of Assisted Reproductive Technology and Donor Conception, particularly in matters related to child identity and selfhood.
