Susan Buckley

 

 

Susan Buckley is a highly experienced registered Psychologist, Single Expert, Family Report Writer, Mediator, Expert Child and Family Consultant with more than twenty years’ experience in private practice and government organisations, including the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. Her interest in child development, couples work, and dispute resolution drew her to the Family Law area in 2000.

Sue has prepared hundreds of Family Reports and presented for cross examination in the family law area to assist parents, legal practitioners and the Court to implement child-centred arrangements. Sue works respectfully and compassionately, mindful of the challenging circumstances separation at all stages can impose on parents and children. She is adept at working with complex matters, including cases involving domestic and family violence. Her approach incorporates the latest developments in clinical practice and the highest standard of care. Her areas of interest include relocation, shared parenting, alienation and protecting children and parents from the impact of family violence.

Sue is well regarded amongst the legal profession nationally. She has worked across the metropolitan and rural areas of Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and Darwin and is known for her capacity to travel to rural and remote areas and her ability to cater for urgent matters. Sue is often called upon to provide expert opinion in family law matters. She incorporates a social science, evidence-based perspective to promote positive outcomes for children. Additionally, Sue continues to voluntarily provide disaster and relief support to individuals and workers affected by natural disasters across Australia.
